Credit systems turn a simple question — what did this cost? — into a riddle.
Every automation platform that sells credits is selling opacity. A 'credit' has no fixed meaning: one action might cost 1, another 40, and the conversion shifts whenever the vendor likes. You buy a bucket, watch it drain, and never quite know why.
Worse, credits almost always hide a markup. The provider charges a real price for a model call; the platform marks it up and re-denominates it in credits so you can't compare. The result is a number that's impossible to audit.
